Default Frustrating AC problem on '88 Bonneville

Replaced compressor 8 years ago and been blowing very cold, then back in March we discovered AC not blowing cold, so I utilized "sniffer" and discovered a leak in the line set.... replaced that, evacuated, refilled....blowing cold...... a week later, not longer blowing cold...... used sniffer again, discovered it hitting around orifice tube connection and discovered a crimped O-ring....replaced that, evacuated, and it held vacuum for 2 hours, so I refilled...... 5 days later, not blowing cold again..... so this time I put dye in system and allowed to circulate a few days..... BUT I can find no areas where dye is seeping out..... I am befuddled at where the leak is.... if it is leaking so badly that the compressor begins to quickly cycle after 5 days, it would appear I would see the dye at some point..... any ideas of places to check? I am almost at the point of breaking one of standard laws....and getting a can of AC Pro Super Seal, just to see if it works..... I am tired of this.

Sounds like you actually have the proper tools yes?

Instead of putting a vacuum on the system, pressurize it to normal with nitrogen. Seals can hold fine when under a vacuum, but when under pressure, they behave differently. Nitrogen is much cheaper than R134 when it comes to testing. And because its inert, it won't contaminate the system.

thats what i use nitrogen and a soap bottle. some times you can listen for a leak and it will get you in the neighborhood. it might be in the evap, alot of times the condenser gets rocks in the front and develops holes
