Exhaust hanger replacement help
I have my one owner 1988 Bonneville SE with about 186,000 miles on it. The rear rubber exhaust hanger broke so I got a new one to replace it. I can't find any mention in any manual or online on how the supporting metal bracket comes loose so you can thread the upper part of the rubber hanger onto it. I've got the one bolt and nut off of it but I can't get the round shaft out of the hole in the frame. Any help would be appreciated. The mechanics wire holding the tailpipe just doesn't look too great but its doing its job in the mean time.

Here'* a picture of the insulator I am trying to replace. The round rod that goes through one end of the rubber piece won't come off of the car. I may have to persuade it. GaryH
