Ignore my hybrid PCM comment and custom cable above. I forgot which topic I was posting in. Too damn many windows open.

Any CP9110 from ebay with a GM cartridge will come with the proper cable for you.

Default i am a retard

Ok, so i drive to work this morning and the service engine soon light FINALLY comes on, so i get there and do the ALCL trick again, and come out with four quick flashes, similar to the last two on code 12, but four , no long at all. So I talk to some dumbshit mechanic who says the catylitic converter is plugged and should be replaced, or left off totally, so he goes in and cuts it out with a sawzall (recipricating saw) and my first though, OH ****, this guy has no ******* clue what hes doing. so now, thats off the car, he starts it, it still isnt running right, and I now have a chunk missing in my exhaust pipe where the converter used to be, and being in the dead end job I have, not only can I not afford to get it fixed, i cant afford a lawyer to sue this dork. So tell me, what does 4 quick flashes in succesion mean, and why is my car still running like crap. Any ideas where to get a WHOLE new exaust pipe from engine to muffler? for less than what the car cost? Help, please!

Default other stuff

Ok, so I have a real mechanic willing to help me out with the exhaust issue the other doink created, but I still dont know what to do about the engine runnin bad. And Has anyone been fortunate enough to make GM pay for a car with ***t clear coat? Its a shame, the car is so elegant, and then you see the clear coat and go, OMG.. wtf? its like skin cancer... also finding a drivers side taillight for my car is a challenge, my lense is cracked and mine are the solid red kind, not the amber, red, (clear outer lens) which I think came a later year, I sure wish someone was in the area that could give me some hints and advice on a personal level, but alas montana is in the middle of nothing...

Just saw this.

Somehow my first thought was to have you look at the front of the harmonic balancer. This is the bottom most pulley. There should be no cracking around the hub of it. A bad harmonic can set the car askew much like you have mentioned.

Ok..who has a pic of a bad harmonic? Bill?

Default harmonic balancer

Car has a new harmonic balancer as of 5 months or so ago, it was making A horrific clunking noise, and NOBODY could figgure it out fiinally i got in there with a flashlight and saws little chunks of rubber coming out of it, so It was replaced for about $110 US. just had to pull the passenger front wheel and the plastic guard, and there was a BIG bold holding it in, but an impact wrench took care of that. Anywho, harmonic balancer is ok.

Default symptoms

well, we have the cat back on, but its still running like crap, I bought some CRC MAF sensor cleaner and cleaned the maf, and it changes all of nothing. The car trys so hard to run right, itll jump once in a while when all goes well and all of the cylinders are going, and then it falls back to its state of, plopety-plopety-plop, I cannot drive at hyway speeds its too stuttery, and driving anywhere close to after a shift point is unbearable also, (Low RPM, high torque) so i let off the gas a little and let it shift back down (trying to go 35 is challenging) and also, this plague in my engine is making me get 5 miles to the gallone, and at $3.08 a gallon, that gets old real real fast. Anyone? ideas. Like I said before, has a new:

Harmonic balancer
Set of plugs
Newly cleaned MAF
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter

had something similar happen to my 90 lesaber.
I ended up having the following set of problems
1. Catalytic converter
2. bad ignition module
3. bad ignition coils
4. 2 dead fuel injectors

Default omg

That sounds so expensive, specially the injector parts, I love my Bonneville, and Im so sad because I dont know what to do to keep her going. I would like to get a newer bonne, the body style after the H style, and an SSEi would be great, but i work for a dead end job, and couldnt afford a new car even if it were the only thing i was paying for. So fixing this one is my only option, I just hope its not to far gone to bring back to life. :?

Default UPDATE

Ok, so I finally go to someone with a little car knowledge, and in less than 5 minutes, its the plug wires. (I should have listened to you guys) and so much for that POS plug wire tester I bought, what a waste, So I install new plug wires and Viola' shes alive, albeit alot louder with a jimmy-rigged exhaust, (Due to cat being cut out) But now its displaying an SES with a code of one long dash and 3 short ones, like code 12, but one more quick one, is this a code 13? I dunno, Ideas, Is it because of lack of back pressure since the cat is gone? Question

Code 13 is an open circuit to the oxygen sensor. Make sure the sensor is still plugged in.
